A French-Lebanese architect who graduated from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) before going on to study at the École nationale supérieure de Paris La Villette, Karl Moukarzel has acquired a good deal of experience in internationally renowned agencies such as the ateliers Jean Nouvel, CroMe studio co-founded in 2017 by Jean-Luc Crochon (winner of the construction trophy and the CTBUH Award from the Chicago Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) and Nayla Mecattaf, who distinguished herself with her expertise at Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) for 25 years, 18 of which as an associate.

Karl also gained experience as a project manager with Manuelle Gautrand (winner of the European Architecture Prize), who made a name for herself internationally and among the general public in 2007 for her creation of the C42, Citroën’s flagship showroom on the Champs-Élysées.
Fascinated by the discovery of new cultures and history, he likes to diversify his travels to gain a better understanding of the world around him, and never fails to invest heavily in research.

These visits have certainly enabled him to “discover a multitude of ways of thinking about the architecture of tomorrow”.
Entirely interested in ephemeral structures and changes of scale, he experiments, discovers and develops his vision of architecture as a continuous and recurring process.

Karl spends an amount of time researching materials. This interests him enormously and enables him to create synergies between the history of the place and its transition in time.
He seeks innovation through architectural concepts and construction methods that adapt to different constraints.

Last but not least, he is also interested in micro and macro spaces, and he is very meticulous and attentive to each detail. Furthermore, he has ventured into furniture design, proposing his own for several collaborations that take into account the topological and chronological context.
